The Bible itself tells us how to interpret it.  It tells us to move on from the literal interpretations and find the deeper spiritual meaning.

• 2 Corinthians 3:6 “Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life.”

• 1 Peter 1:20 “Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.  For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.”

• Hebrews 6:1-4 “Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God, Of the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment. And this will we do, if God permit. For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost,..”

• 1 Corinthians 3:11 “And I, brethren, could not speak unto you as unto spiritual, but as unto carnal, even as unto babes in Christ. I have fed you with milk, and not with meat: for hitherto ye were not able to bear it, neither yet now are ye able."

• Isaiah 28:9 “Whom shall he teach knowledge? and whom shall he make to understand doctrine? them that are weaned from the milk, and drawn from the breasts.”

• Hebrews 5:13 "For every one that useth milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe."

The scriptures are full of symbolic representations. The physical world and the concepts in the world help us understand the scriptures, and they also represent something spiritual. Interpreting the Bible allegorically encourages a "weaning" from the interpretation of words that are "milk" which helps one to eventually no longer use or "drink" the milk but get to the "meat" of the matter. Doing so also shines light on the difference between the "milk" and "meat" of the words so we can see that meat is truly more beneficial for growth.

Historical evidence tells us to consider allegorical interpretations.  There are may religions and various theories in the world concerning God, and with all the documented history of religion and how it has evolved through time that is now available there is an overwhelming amount of evidence we should consider to determine truth.

Man has a convincing way of portraying what he believes as truth, and man also has a way of controlling society through religious dogma.  Why are there so may religions? And is any one of them 100 percent truth? However, man also has an almost miraculous way of finding truth through the fallacy.

• The spiritual and/or allegorical interpretation method helps create peace and forgiveness rather than hate and judgement because it reveals the intended but hidden truths in the religious dogma which fosters a deep wisdom that is more congruent with science. It does not prove traditional religions are bad, it simply reveals a deeper more profound meaning in them which dissolves hate and fosters peace between them.
